History in Bengali Literature: A Study of Selected Bengali Novels

Great novelists through their writings placed the history of the Indian national and social awakening movement in literature.The context of this article is great three novels of three great littérateurs of Bengal namely, ‘Anandamath’ , written by Rishi Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay; ‘Ghare Baire’, written by the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and ‘Pather Dabi’ by legendary Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. In these three novels the perspective of nationalist movements, the liberation of women and their moral and physical participation in the freedom movement are focused on in historically important ways.
