Fifth Krishna Raj Memorial Lecture Series: Moving Towards Universal Access to Health Care- 5

The Fifth Anusandhan Trust’s Krishna Raj Memorial Lecture Series on Contemporary Issues in Health and Social Sciences was held on January 5, 2011. The speakers were Dr. K. Srinath Reddy (Chairperson of High level expert group on Universal Health Coverage and President, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI)and Dr. Armando de Negri Filho (Public health specialist, Porto Alegre, Brazil, Coordinator of Global Conference on Social Security Systems and Universal Health) . Gautam Mody and Renu Khanna were the Discussants.Dr Armando speaks about the conditions of health care in Brazil and the difficulties in ensuring universal access to health care. He particularly emphasizes the role of the civil society and of the professionals.
