Social Mobility of Caste and Tribes in India

Presents a general model of social mobility based on a model developed by Tsiddon and Rubenstein. Critically examines the data available to test the model of social mobility within the Indian context. Shows how Indian Politics, promoting a change in social imbalances, may influence the model and hence reduce inequality between different social groups.
