For some time now Indian manufacturing sector has been stagnating adversely affecting
the growth of employment, investment (both domestic and foreign), and exports. The
absence of a vibrant manufacturing sector is critically now affecting not only the
growth of India’s national income but its democratic aspirations as well. Why has
the manufacturing sector declined in India? What exactly are the policy implications
